What Blake Knew

(May, 2014)

Life is a series of boundaries
you gotta push past.
There’s a line and for most of your life
you’re stuck on one side of it where
they teach you shame and never
to cross over.
But deep down, you long for it,
down in the places they can’t program you.
Then,
one day you go to a party where nobody wears any clothes and
there are brass rings lining the walls to tie you to
(and they do).
Ecstasy leaps off the page and becomes more
than just a word to you and the world
just looks different after something like that.
Innocence and experience.
The thinnest of lines.
The biggest of differences.
